It’s Alive! SFF Bloggers Aggregator Posting On Four Platforms

(Beth Turnage Blog) A SAD TALE: Years ago, I started SFF Bloggers.com, an aggregator of science fiction and fantasy blogs. I had other aggregators for different topics, and one in particular got a respectable number of views. Why couldn’t an aggregator work in the fiction realm too! But SFF Blogger, within a year of operation, broke because of changes in WordPress architecture. (I’m shaking my fingers at you, Blocks!) Then there were problems in importing pictures, and things got ugly fast.

My bad, but I let these aggregators languish because, let’s say,”life”and a lack of understanding of the technical matters involved, but there is nothing that bothers me more than an unfinished task. So for the past month, I’ve been digging into these blog problems using ChatGPT, which was surprisingly good at diagnosing the cascade of issues that broke my aggregators. So, I’m happy (and relieved) to announce that SFF Bloggers lives, with improvements. It now reliably reposts to the SFF Bloggers Facebook page, the SFF Bloggers Instagram page, and a new BlueSky page, since X, formerly known as Twitter, decided it wants to charge for each autopost. No thank you, Elon. You may be a trillionaire, but I am not. Besides, I see these aggregators as a service to the communities they serve, so I don’t charge for a listing or anything else. I may have to eventually restrict the number of participants due to the limitations of my hosting plan, but we haven’t gotten there yet.
